I thought I would be safe here. Erik is Tily’s boyfriend. The next morning after Alex brought me here, the vampires started burning me, for no reason. When I asked them what they were doing, they didn’t answer me. Erik is the leader here. Tily hasn’t been around at all. I think she’s still at Piper’s house.

“Ouch,” I yell as Ben burns me again.

He laughs and then runs away.

If only I wasn’t such a new vampire, then I could take him, no problem.

“Tanya,” I hear a girl call my name.

“I’m over here,” I call over to her.

I turn around to see a girl, about the height of Belle, walking towards me.

“Who are you,” I ask her.

“My name is Leeuw, but you can call me Lee,” she says to me.

“What do you want with me,” I ask her.

“I’m here to take you away from here, to a safer place where you won’t get hurt,” she tells me.

I think about this for a minute, until I feel fire near my arm. I hit Ben in the head without turning around.

“Ok, I’ll go with you,” I say to her.

“Great. Now, will you just look away for a minute,” she asks me.

“Uh sure,” I say and turn around.

A few minutes later I’m being picked up off my feet by the most beautiful lioness I have ever seen.

“Leeuw, you can shift,” I ask her.

Well I am a shape shifter and my name does mean lion, she tells me.

“So you’re taking me to a group of shape shifters,” I ask her.

Yes, I am, she says to me.

We ride in silence for the rest of the way there. When we do get there, there are a whole bunch of kids running around, no adults.

“Why aren’t all these kids with their parents,” I ask as a boy who looks to be about 5 runs by.

Their parents didn’t want them anymore, she says slowing down to a walk. These kids come to us with under developed powers and we help them find them.

There look to be about 30 kids here. A boy walks up to us and sits down on the ground. I get off Leeuw so she could shift back to her human self. When she shifts back, I am able to get a look at her. She is about as tall as Belle, maybe a little taller, with golden blonde hair up to her shoulders and emerald green eyes. She looks to be about 11.

“Tanya, come sit with us and I’ll introduce you to our circle,” says Leeuw.

I walk over to a group of kids who have sat down along with the boy.

“I’m Leeuw, as you already know,” she says pointing to herself, “and that guy over there is Adelaar,” she says pointing to the first boy.

He has dirty blonde hair and yellow eyes, almost like a birds.

“My name means Eagle,” he tells me.

That explains it, I think to myself.

“Those 2 girls over there are Vos and Luipaard,” says Leeuw pointing to 2 beautiful girls at the far side of the circle. They looked to be about 7.

Vos has red hair and green eyes and Luipaard has blonde hair with black streaks and brown eyes.

“Our names mean Fox and Leopard,” says Vos.

“Yes and that little boy over there is our newest member. He is going to be your responsibility while you stay here. You are to help him with his homework, play with him, and help him with anything he needs help with. You are also going to help us find him a name. He hasn’t shifted yet so we don’t know what he is,” says Leeuw pointing to a black haired boy with brown eyes. He looked to be about 3.

I walk over to the boy and sit beside him. He doesn’t move but he just looks at me.

“Hi. My name is Tanya,” I say to him.

“You don’t look like a shifter,” he says to me.

“That’s because I’m not. I’m a vampire,” I say to him.

He walks around me. Then he sits beside me and gives me a hug.

“You seem nice,” he says to me.

“Thank you,” I say hugging him back, “I try to be.”

“Looks like you 2 are going to be great friends,” says Vos.

“Ya, he’s never done that to anyone before,” says Adelaar.

I get up with the little boy still holding onto me and walk over to Leeuw.

“So, where am I going to sleep,” I ask her.

“You can sleep in the guest cabin at the far side of the clearing,” she says to me and walks away.

“I’ll take you there,” says the little boy, sliding to the ground.

I follow him to the farthest side of the clearing until I see a small cabin.

“I sleep here too,” he says and leads me inside.

The cabin is beautiful. It’s full of red and black material and white furniture.

“Wow,” I say.

“Ya. Vos helped me decorate it,” he says to me.

He walks over to a door and turns around to face me.

“This is your room,” he says and opens the door.

I walk inside and suddenly feel like I’m underwater.

“Wow. I feel like I’m in the ocean,” I tell him.

“Thanks,” he says.

There is a silence while I just look around the room. When I look at him, he looks sad.

“Hey, what’s wrong,” I ask him.

“Everyone here can shift but I can’t,” he says to me, sitting down on the floor.

“It’s ok,” I say to him, “you’ll find out what you are sooner or later.”

“You know I do have a name right,” he asks me, looking up at me.

“You do? What is it,” I ask him, suddenly interested.

“My name is Draak,” he says to me.

“Wow. That’s a great name. Do you know what it means,” I ask him.

He shakes his head. “I was hoping you would know.”

“Well if I did know, I would tell you. That way, you could find out what you are supposed to shift into,” I say.

There is silence until Draak stands up.

“Well I’m going to bed. You should go to sleep to,” he says and walks out of the room, shutting the door behind him.

I wish I knew what his name ment, I think to myself as I start getting ready for bed, that way I could help him shift. I wonder if Leeuw knows he has a name. If she doesn’t know, I’m sure Draak doesn’t want me to tell her.

I climb into bed and it’s not too long until I fall asleep.

The End
