the moon
Katie sent music to the moon
(or tried to)
How miserable - she thought-
To exist in a vacuum -
Muffled silence of space.
She sent a love song.
A hymn of silver light
Reflected on its cratered
Surface as on the edge of thought
Sometimes darkness enveloped them
Love enraptured gathered them -
Sunk deep in the heart of sound -
It had no response
Time and place displaced
This glance of communication.
Now a ghost sits frail
Aching at the piano
Struggling to remember
Their love's sweet code
The warm, flowering notes
Of paean - of the earth-
Embracing song - of the darkness
Swallowing light in its loveliness."

"Heh, looks like you managed to get around my CSS overrides there somehow. Will have to fix that, as weird as it looks."
