Claude stretched lazily on the hotel bed, it wasn't comfortable in any sense but after the last few days, it was heaven. To make sure they wouldn't get killed in their sleep, the group still kept at least one person awake at all time, switching place every two hours.
That night, the french man was the last designated watch man, right after Xavier. He spread himself out on the bed in a cat-like fashion until he noticed something odd...
The sun was up. In panic, he opened his eyes and looked at the time. It was well past nine thirty, four hours after he should have been waken up. He examined the room, searching for the group's youngest.
Xavier was nowhere in sight, the bathroom door was open and it was empty. He slowly rose from his bed and grabbed for a weapon, a baseball bat he had purchased the previous day.
"Girls, Wake up!" He said, shaking the two women awake.
"What's the matter?" Leila asked, after an irritated growl.
Upon hearing that, both women jumped strait out of bed. "Did he get kidnapped?" The punk asked.
"I don't think so, his stuff is gone... He wouldn't have taken it if he was just taking a stroll outside..." Tessa added after quickly evaluating the situation.
"We've got to catch up with him." The punk suggested. "He went north, he shouldn't be too hard to find."
"I think he was bullshitting us last night. I mean, come on, he was barely coherent..." The journalist noted. "He's probably gone in another direction."
"Shouldn't we go find him?" Claude asked, not sure if it was a good idea or not.
" I don't know... We can't afford to miss our meeting with William." Tess commented.
Claude sighed. "This is already going to hell... We haven't even started yet."
The group sat in silence for a while, everyone ruminating about the current situation. It was only interrupted an hour later when someone knocked at the door. Without waiting, William came inside and looked up the now smaller group.
"Seems like we're missing somebody." He commented aloud. "Regardless, we have to start. Please, follow me."
