Lucas paid particular attention to MG_panel.uif. ‘uif’ stood for ‘user interface’. MG was an advanced program if it had its own interface. Throwing away his better judgment, Lucas opened the file. A wall of text scrolled down the screen. He could barely see what it was, but he caught a few words: reboot, pending, MG.apa, spooling, opening assets.
Suddenly, all the text stopped. He was left with a blank screen. But then the servers began to run. The blue lights on their faces blazed and the cooling fans within them roared to life. It was like a dead man, come back from the grave. Lucas was unsure whether that was good or bad. A single word appeared on the screen.
