On a Beach where One Man BreathesMature

Day 216 since nuclear fallout. Diary entry number 156. Time 2:12 AM. Temperature 22 degrees Fahrenheit.

I have awaken once again to a growling stomach. Five days without food and water does stuff to a man. Then again, this won’t be the longest I’ve gone without.

The word I’ve heard from travelers seems to be false. I’ve waited days on this very sand, waiting for that boat to come.

It never will.

But in my mind, the thought of something out there looking for me kept me sane.

And I will hold on to this thought with my life.

Even if I hold it for just a few more days…

The End
