Play it safe, she decided, and brought up the Messaging app. "Too many people nearby, text preferred..." she tapped out, mentally crossing her fingers.  She reread her message, deleting the periods at the end, and touched the send icon. The phone obliged, and after a second the screen dimmed.  She felt better.  Time to find out who she was now.

Robie Sanctavor, she mused, looking down at his driver's license.  The photo was obviously recent, maybe too recent.  Although she would have to ask an expert, she was sure the license was fake. Hmmph, she thought, and glanced at the phone before emptying the wallet out on the desk in front of her.

'Alert. Unexplained pulse energy downtown subway station. M? possibly in play. Status?' she reread the text, holding the phone tighter than was necessary.  'M?' what did that mean? She was positive the energy pulse was a result of her using the stone, and this was disheartening, to say the least, but 'M?' probably meant that they, whoever they were, knew the stone by name, and quite possibly, what the stone did when activated! There was not a moment to lose!
