Bev wasn't sure what to do. On the one hand, she wanted to know who that man was and why she felt like he was the worst person that had ever lived. On the other hand, she could tell from his voice alone that he would be a dangerous man and that they might not come out of that battle alive.
"I'm going to investigate, Suzy. Now, you don't have to come with me if you don't want to."
"I'm scared Bev."
"Then go and stay over there, out of sight."
"Promise me that you'll be alright."
Bev nodded confidently and watched her friend slowly meander over to a small building, which she hid behind. The confidence faded and she took a single step forward; she was at the corner of a building now and she was afraid of what she was about to find.
She pressed her body up against the wall and before she noticed, she had passed through into the darkness.
"Speak of the devil and she comes."
It was him.

Rosie reluctantly ended the embrace and collected her gun. Lollie frowned and shook her head, explaining that she's dead so bullets can't harm her.
"But you said that they have to die again. What's to stop me from shooting her in the head and killing her there and then?"
"Firstly, it would make a mess. Secondly, it would make a lot of noise. Thirdly, she'd just go straight back into her body and we'd have to talk to a person with a bullet hole for a face and that doesn't appeal as much as bags under her eyes. Yeah?"
"Well, its a precaution. Just in case things get nasty."
"They always do, Rose."
"Please, it's Rosie."
"You first then."
The detective tentatively opened the door, aiming her gun at head height.
A couple of seconds, which were mainly filled with shouting, passed.

Bev only caught a glimpse of the man and what else was going on in the room but she definitely saw Christina before she ran through the wall in terror.
Bev had got to her friend's hiding place in mere seconds but she wasn't there. There was nobody. She tried circling the little hut but she didn't find anyone. She started to panic.
That was when she saw Christina.
"Oh thank god you're alright Christina!"
Then, the girl that she was reluctant to call her friend fell to the ground, revealing the man.
"You aren't getting away from me."
"What have you done to her?"
"We just had a little fun. Why? Jealous?"
"She more or less is. She had the special treatment."
"Who are you?" she sounded breathless.
"Your worst nightmare. Come here, precious. I've been waiting a long time to meet someone like you."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"You know, Beverly."
"You can't know that."
"Oh but I do. Just like I know your friend's secret."
"Hasn't Suzy said yet? Shame. But right now, I'm more interested in you. If it will change things."
"Don't you dare touch me!"
"Come on, Bev. Play nicely. Otherwise, it's just going to hurt a lot more."
