It had been a long time since the fair had been in town. So long it fact that she couldn't remember the last time she had seen it. She had lived a lonely life since all of her friends had left her. Life had been tough in her little world and she was beginning to be sick of it. So much so that she decided that that night she would drown her sorrows in the flashing lights and the adrenaline fuelled atmosphere.
When she entered, she was taken back to the old-fashioned world that she remembered. She felt that whenever she entered such a place, all sanity went out of the window. So after grabbing a drink from a man with an exceedingly large beard, she fell into the dirty, muddy ground. Her shoes were falling apart and she lost most of them as she got up with a squelch.
She twirled on the spot, soaking up the beautiful glow of the merry-go-round. She watched people, young and old, having the time of their lives. Just like she had. She smiled, despite the memories that just being there had brought up.
She decided that she'd just walk around for a bit until she crashed into a blast from her past.
The man who had killed her.
