The Cattle Farm

He knew where to go, he had an objective, and it was a long run, a very long run, his chances of success were small. Though he was in good shape, so were the dogs, and he knew that there were no shorter ways to get there since he was going in a straight line. Yet, he felt there was an answer to this, there might still be a possibility to have better chances, "but what..." he thought, "what could get me there faster? Nothing, there is a river nearby, but that wouldn't get me there faster..." But yet again he felt he was seeing things from the wrong point of view, "I need to get there fast... no, no I don't, I need to get there ahead of the dogs. And if I can't run faster, then I must slow them down instead".

GoldenKnight-for-all "Thanks for writing! Yes, I meant to omit the name of the animal so that people would need to use their imagination. I will admit I was imagining a fox for their intelligence, though at first I had thought about a weasel or a mink.

But really it could be anything you wish. : )
