Christabel is a girl with a past that haunts her. When she returns home after two years of absolute silence, she finds that not everything is as it seems. Sometimes what we run from comes back.
You could tell by the way she moved through the crowd that her aim was not to be seen. Zigzagging through the static pattern of whitewashed people, she emitted an audible breath of air that could only say one undeniable thing.
“I don't want to be here. I don't need to be here.”
The shadows that her parents called “people” surrounded her, seeming to walk blindly in circles, in and out of the train depot. Her hoodie covered her eyes, a streak of black covering a pale face, and masking all the features that could identify her.
She was back home at last, and ready for the confrontation with the Devil of Seraphim Falls.
