I yawned. I liked Science, but we'd been doing fire (or as the teacher put it, combustion) for three weeks now. That's nine lessons.
I was saved by the bell. The shrill ringing was cut through by the sound of people scraping their stools back, eager to go now the day was over.
I pushed my stool out of the way and grabbed my bag from under the desk. It was a big, bulky thing, a backpack with green elastic bits which seemed to serve no purpose except for getting caught on everything.
