The Eternals

Two totally different girls wake up one day to find that they are special, and they're needed to save humanity

Aria

I don't know where I am. I don't know how I got here. "Where are we?" I shout at the girl running next to me. I've never seen her before in my life, and yet I know that we've got to keep on running, and that we have to stick together. She looks just as panicked as I do.

I steal a glance around me. I can't see anything. It's all too blurry, semi-dark. That's what scared me. All my life I've hated gloominess in rooms. If I can't see, I worry- It's just what I do. I begin to slow down as the panic takes hold of my chest. The other girl turns and screams at me to keep going. I can't. I'm rooted to the spot, and she turns and runs back to me. At least, the only possibility I can think of is that she ran. It didn't look like it. She sort of sunk down into the Earth below us, and popped back up right in front of me smoothly and calmly- all of her clothes still spotlessly clean. I'm too confused to move, until I hear a terrible screech. My heart pumping like crazy, I turn around.

There's a huge black shape steaming towards us. I'm about to scream when a sudden calm sweeps over me. I grab the other girl by the wrist, close my eyes, and lift my free arm up. We both swoop up over the top of the dark shape, tumbling over and over, gracefully twirling in the air. I focus again, and we begin to move forward in a straight, true line, at breath-taking speed. We're flying. Actually flying. I can't believe it. I turn to the other girl, who's looking pleased. She starts to congratulate me on finding my "power", but then an airy light voice surrounds me. "This is your destiny." Then I'm falling, and it all goes dark.
