Great Friends

After dinner, I went followed Ben into his tent saying that I needed something he'd got.

"What is it?" I said when we sat down.

"Well... I don't know. It sounds silly but..."

"Ben. Whatever's on your mind is bothering you. I don't like it."

"Well... I have this... feeling... that something... gonna happen..." he trailed off.

"Hmm... well, maybe it's like, an addition to your power. You know, you get what you want so... I dunno, maybe you know when something you don't want is gonna happen" I suggested.

"Yeah, maybe. Listen. I don't like it either. It's scaring me... it's been happening for a while now... it scares me more every day..." Ben sighed.

"Listen, I think you should try and forget about it. I think you're getting too worked up about it. You think it'll get worse so it has been. Just try to forget about it, and if it gets worse tell me. I'm really worried about you. You're never usually like this"  told him. This was horrible. He sighed again.

"You're a really great friend Sara. I don't know what I'd do without you. God, I'd probably go mad! Ha! I mean, you've always been there for me. You got me out of all that bullying in year seven..." He said. Wow. He'd never said anything like that to me before... well, he did. Last year...but that was different. Ben had been bullied by a bunch of chavs because he was in the school science club. He was a wreck. And he didn't tell me it was going on. I only found out when I walked into school late and saw Garth Anders and his gang kicking him to the ground. I stopped them and asked why they were doing it. Garth said something like 'are you friends with the science nerd then?'. I'd said that actually yes, I was friends with him, and I was also in the science club. You'll never guess who turned up at science club the next day. I bet it was because he though I was 'fit'. I'd heard him saying that. He was wrong.

"Ben. You're a really great friend too. Come here" I hugged him. Then thunder crashed outside making us both jump. We laughed.

"Hehe. I better go. Forget about it, OK?" I said

"OK" he replied. I left.

The End
