Penny: Secret HidawayMature

We walked up the stairs hand in hand, walked through the hall and up another flight of stairs.

“Where are we going?” I asked curiously.

“To my own personal library.” he sounded excited to show it to me. When I was human I basically lived in the library and the forest, my two favourite places to escape reality. I lifted up my dress just above my feet as the steps where quite narrow here and started to climb the spiral stair case. I spread my arms out to touch the stone walls. It was so smooth. After about one hundred and thirteen steps, I counted them, we came to a Victorian wooden door. It was like stepping back in time.

“Now, I don’t really let my brothers in here, only on special occasions.” He smiled at me and opened the door to the most cosy and beautiful places I’ve ever been in m life. Directly in front of the door was a massive window over looking the tree’s we were so high up. I walked slowly in and it took my breath away. It was a large circular space, decorated in red wall paper and big thick curtains hanging delicately decorating the window. There was a curved couch along the wall underneath the window. With a fireplace to my right and book selves across every wall it was our own personal heaven. The floor was old dark oak and a pretty rug was spread across it directly in the middle of the room. The whole room was complimented by the candles that hung on the wall.

“It’s so beautiful!” I muttered.

“And you complete it.” his eyes sparkled as he held my hand and lead me to the window.

“The stars are so bright tonight.” I said. We sat down together and I snuggled up to him as he hugged me.

“You have no idea how many lonely nights I’ve spent up here.” he sighed. “I have read these books thousands of times but I’ve never had any one to share them with.” he started to play with my hair.

“Why did you not invite your brothers then?”

“We all have are own interests. I suppose we were all busy doing our own thing. I’m interested in being outdoors and reading.”

“What a coincidence.” I joked.

“What is your favourite story then?” Jake asked out of the blue.

I thought for a while. “I suppose it’s Alice in Wonderland.”

“Good choice. Why though?”

“I think its because Alice is very much like me. Are you not hungry” I could feel him shake his head.

“Not really. I want to spend the night with you though.”

“Well I can’t argue with that!” I smiled at the thought. Everything seemed to be falling into place all of a sudden.

"I could get used to this." I sighed, I was actually happy for once in my life.

The End
