Penny: So Cool!Mature

Jake came back into the room smiling.

“What did you come in as then? 16 stone?” I gasped “More?!” I laughed. My sarcasm is probably the only thing that will get me through this mess.

He came and kneeled by me again.

“How’s your head?”

“Messed up.”

“Seriously Penny. How are you feeling?”

“I’m fine now thank you.” I smiled at him. “So what is this place?”

“Our home. Well mine, yours and your new family.”

“Indeed. My brothers and sister, and there partners. But what‘s worrying me is you.” he concluded.

“Me, why?”

“Well I have a feeling that you have the power to adapt.”

“I have powers?!” he nodded.

“How can you tell?”

“Well you seem to manage with what you get. Like that mud mound. You just go right up it and over the other side. You manage.” He smiled up at me while a pondered the thought. Me, powers!

“Plus, when I told you what you are, you gave me sarcasm. Most of the other girls freaked.” I have no idea what to say to that!

“Can we go outside?” I asked.

“Why do you want to go out? Don’t you want to meet the others?”

“Later. I just have this feeling.” he looked at me questionably but agreed.

We walked into the middle of the forest holding hands and found a small mountain of old trees and mud. I let go.

“Wait here a minute.” he nodded but said nothing. I walked up to the front of the mound and closed my eyes concentrating fully on imagining a wolf. It was the first animal that popped into my head.

“Awesome!” I heard Jake whisper behind me. I opened my eyes and I was lower to the ground then I remember. I leaped up onto the mound with more legs too. I looked down and they were fury. I was fury! And I had four legs.

“No way.” I muttered. I ran up the mound in my wolf form. This was so cool!

I laughed when I was at the top, closed my eyes and changed back.

I sat down “That was so cool!” I called down. He ran up the mound and sat next to me.

“Your telling me.”

“I suppose I should meet my new family now.”

“What? I don’t get any sarcastic remark.”

I shook my head. “I had nothing good.” I smiled. “So what was that meeting about, if it wasn’t weight watchers?”

“It was a progress meeting” he said dully.

“Progress meeting?”

“I’ll explain later.” he started to play with my hand. “Suppose we better get back now.”

“I suppose so.” I muttered.

“What’s the matter?”

“Nothing. I just like staying out in the woods. It’s quite.”

“Me too. But we have to get back. I want to introduce everyone to my beautiful eternity.” We both smiled at each other. “Come on then.” He helped me up and we ran side by side back to the house.

The End
