One set of lights.
Two sets of lights.
I didn’t realise how far away our house was from the hospital.
At the third set of lights I looked out the window.
A normal pair of eyes would not have been able to see what I saw.
Theo swore loudly and wasn’t even told off by our parents like they usually did.
“Come ON.” Dad growled as he beeped his horn. The lights stayed red for a very long time.
Long enough for me to remember what REALLY went on that day.
