Sorry that this new page is so late, but the end of my exams are finally here and I can start writing again. Thank you to everyone who has been following the story for your support and patience. :)
We both exit the vehicle, my bag dragging behind me while Aidan shuts both the doors.
He and I head up the porch steps, me taking two at a time to keep up with his long strides before we reach the door which Aidan unlocks.
After standing aside and waiting for me to walk through he enters and we trek into the kitchen. "So, what can I expect for my first training session sensei?" I tease, watching him dump his bags down and open the fridge.
"Sensei? I use a sword and kick Alterate butt Elena, but that doesn't mean I grow a long white beard and speak in riddles."
The corners of his eyes crinkle as he smiles, grabbing a fruit juice from the cold box before returning to stand before me. "If you're not careful, I might just hand you a tub of wax and tell you to polish up my car like in that old movie. Would be more for my entertainment than your benefit if I'm honest."
He gulps down half of the fruit juice, closing its cap while I roll my eyes and hop off the seat I had taken on the stool.
"I will not be doing forced manual labor if it has no point. Tell me which muscle groups will be worked and it will make me feel a lot better about waking up with lactic acid soaked tendons and joints"
He chuckles, his deep voice reverberating through the quiet kitchen. "You'll have plenty of that, so you might as well prepare yourself now."
He runs his hand through his hair, the dirty-blonde pieces falling back into his turquoise eyes stubbornly. He looks up at me, noticing me shrugging my shoulders and tipping my head to the side.
"I'm ready for this Aidan. The way I see it, this is happening whether I like it or not so I might as well go with the flow, working at it so that I'm ready for anything that this new....thing throws at me."
Aidan looks at me strangely, then nudges me playfully with his fist. "I'm glad you figured that out now. Things are going to be hard, but if you have that sort of mind set then it isn't going to be as difficult as I thought it would."
He drinks the last of his juice, tossing the empty container into the bin before turning to walk out the kitchen. "I'll be right back, need to get ready for the training. As Clarisse said earlier, it won't be easy whooping you into shape whilst wearing jeans" He stuck his one hand into his pocket, then picked up his bag and began to head towards his room
"Feel free to wander around the house for 5 minutes. Just don't break anything or my mom will have to skin me alive" His figure begins to walk towards the stairs, his shoes barely causing the wooden floorboards to squeak.
I shrug my shoulders, jokingly saying after him just before he begins his ascension of the stairs "Jeez Aidan, I'm not going to go around wreaking havoc and swinging around any sharp objects mounted on walls on a rampage...but remind me again, where is your valuable china ?"
He shakes his head disapprovingly, a mere glimmer of a smile flashing before he shouts down to me "Ha Ha, very funny. I'll see you in a bit"
