The Captain, the Blue

Sapphires dance with the sun
Reaching up to kiss the horizon.
The sun reddens a dark blush
And caresses far, a ripple smoothing
Such a gentle brush, sweeping sorrow.

Wipe those salty tears of sailors
Dying for the blue.
Captain, above all:
Commanding legions, take no sides
For he holds the hefty war.

A friend follows,
When the sea is angered, the friend stands up
Rolling wave after wave
And when bored with the blue,
The horizon picks up and cradles it's winds,
Laying it down in a bed of clouds to rest.
