He couldn’t keep himself from looking at her as she gently began to massage his hand, working the tension out of each knuckle with the tips of her fingers. Her gaze was focused on his hand but he knew she was aware of his gaze on her.
“You are the most dedicated person I have ever known Eyal and for that I am eternally grateful. I wouldn’t be alive today if you hadn’t taken my father’s instructions so seriously,” she told him, their gazes finally meeting. “I need you rested and ready if we’re going to really take back the throne and if that means sleeping in the same room at night then that is what we’re going to do.”
“Princess we can’t…” he began to say but Sarai raised a hand in silent protest.
“I won’t have you suddenly going all proper palace etiquette on me. We threw that out the window when we left the palace. I need to know that I can depend on you no matter what Eyal and if that means we share a room then we share a room. Understood?” she told him.
