Sweet Death and Escape

About someone who is neglected in their dying moment of need and realises that death may not be so bad after all

A flash of white/

The roars of engines and muffled voices around me/

They refuse to move/they fail to see/

What they’re doing is killing me/

Sending me to endless night

Breath/sweet breath escaping/

And everything gone before/

Is laid under the spotlight/

Death/sweet death approaching/

And the tunnel before me now/

Could be a better place/

A better place than here

Screams in the night/

We try and fail to get them to realise/

They crowd around/for a better view/

An exercise in true humanity/

Nothing in this world seems right

Breath/sweet breath escaping/

And everything gone before/

Is laid under the spotlight/

Death/sweet death approaching/

And the tunnel before me now/

Could be a better place/

A better place than here

Losing faith in you/

Hopelessness is in me/

Notions of kindness long gone/

When you strip away the fantasy

Breath/sweet breath escaping/

And everything gone before/

Is laid under the spotlight/

Death/sweet death approaching/

And the tunnel before me now/

Could be a better place/

A better place than here

The End
