The novel has taught me that this generation is selfish. We take everything for granted and never stop to experience what life really is. The phones seem to suck us in and we can’t escape. As heard in the novel “It’s funny how much I’m enjoying things these days. I think we all are. We’re so used to worrying we hardly even notice it.” Miranda states that she has realised what we all miss out on. It’s quite sad to see our generation fade into the light of a phone screen.

Miranda experiences many cultural and environmental changes. But I personally believe that she experienced a change of mindset. In the beginning of the novel she is in the supermarket and basically steals items. Something that would never be accepted in today's world. It seems the craze of the situation is messing with the world's morals and mindset.

The author bases the novel of off a journal entry style. One of my favorite styles of writing. It lets me get a view of the characters opinions and reactions. The style of the book intrigues me and keeps me reading. But all good things have a dark side the books can be misleading and you can be confused easily. Sometimes the wording will mess with your perception.
