Conversation Between Friends

That line had a chilling effect on Tom.  The only thing left to remind the world he existed was his daughter, and she didn't even know who he was.  None of these guys should have known he had a daughter, let alone where to find her.

"Johnny, you better think long and hard about what you just said before you decide to say anything else," as Tom smoothly sets down these words he stays his hand, just until he can see where this is going.

"She's safe T, if we hurt her you wouldn't help us.  Of course, the opposite is true, if you don't help us we might have to hurt her.  You see where this is going right?"

"What I see, John, is that you 3 thought you were going to come in here and threaten my daughter, and for some reason you didn't think I'd end you all without blinking."

For whatever reason, Dave took this as his cue to speak to the angry man who clearly didn't like him. "Nah man, we knew you wouldn't do sh** because we made sure that if anything happened to us, you wouldn't have to worry bout your daughter no more."

"You apparently don't know as much as you think," Tom said with an air of passivity, yet still coating his words in acid.  Without missing a beat, he drew his pistol and shot Dave in the foot.  Before he hit the ground, the remaining two gentlemen had their guns pointed at their seated attacker.  At the sound of the shot that took down Dave, the two guests at the bar turned to look at the scene, but the bartender didn't even blink, as if he were afraid of missing a second of his crossword.

"Relax boys, just wanted to teach the kid some manners." T knew that he couldn't take all 3 of these guys yet, not here, and not until he could find out where they had his daughter, or what they had planned.  Whether he liked it or not, T knew he would have to do what these guys wanted, for now at least.

The End
