Yup, another collab :P
I bet you're sick of me and my collaborative stories now! :P Please join.
Basically, it's about a group of people who get stranded on a desert island, with nothing but the forest, the beach and the sea to keep them alive. (I've never seen The Beach, but if what I've seen of it is right, it's a bit like that.)
My name, passed down through the generations of my father's side, is Nicholas. I hate my name, so I'm lucky that most people settle for 'Nick'. I hate my name, because I hate my father. He was a drunkard, who abused my mother, and most probably me, when I was young. But, he left before I could start to realise what he was doing. Of course, I'm happy he left, but why he left, leaves a dark hole in the pit of my stomach. He left because he was running away from the police. He killed my mother.
But that was nineteen years ago, when I was only one. I guess I'm unlucky for obvious reasons, but I'm also lucky that I didn't get to know my mother, so I didn't bond. So I've lived with it, which has made me strong.
I did get put in a care home, but when I was thirteen, I decided that I wasn't gonna have any of that. I ran away on my fourteenth birthday. No-one at the dumping ground cared.
After a few years of living on the streets, I decided that an adventure was in order. Well, if I was going to die soon, I might as well have had some fun beforehand.
I didn't have a clue where I was going to go, but I knew I had to. I had to leave! An impulse made me. So I started off on my trip of a lifetime...
