The boy smiled at me. My fluttering heart skipped a beat, and my breath quickened. He was an angel. He stood out in this ugly world like an oasis in the middle of a desert.
He took three graceful steps towards me, and it was as if he was gliding, hovering a few inches from the browning grass. "Hello Lovie." he said, in a voice like singing, a voice so pure it knocked the life out of me. I managed a weak smile, and he floated closer. He took my hand in his, and looked right into my eyes, like he could see through them, a window to my soul. He smiled that beautiful smile again, and lifted me into his arms. It took me a few seconds to shake off the amazing feeling of his cool skin against mine, as he ran so fast the tranquil forest became a green and brown blur behind me. But I woke up. Eventually.
"Eeerm, where are we going?" I asked in a small voice, surprised at how scared I sounded. Was I really that terrified of this strange child? He laughed.
"i am bringing you back, of course!" he said, like it was the most obvious thing out there.
"Yes but, where exactly?" He stopped.
"You mean you don't know?"
"Don't know what?"
He sighed. "I guess I've got a lot of explaining to do."
