The Song of Sadness
The Song can be sung by the young and the old,
The song of the meek and the song of the bold.
The Song tells of loneliness, suffering and fear.
The Song gives us hope and the Song brings us fear.
The Song is an endless one, sung for all time
It tells us of struggles, and mountains to climb.
Some say that this Song fades away when we sleep
And rises again when sad secrets we keep.
There are many times when it hurts us to sing
Because of the tears fellow choristers bring.
But I will keep singing the song of my heart
The song that - my soul tells me - sets us apart.
