Kamika turned from Thorn and wiped her tears from her eyes and cheeks. Her head was fretting over the three words she'd said just before he'd let her go,
" I love you,"
Had he heard her? Was he just ignoring it? Kamika's stomach didn't know what to do! She didn't know whether she should be nervous as to whether he'd heard her or not, or angered because he was ignoring it. She sat down against the wall, putting her head in her hands.
We have two days," Thorn said, Kamika lifted her head,"It's given us two days to make a decision. If we haven't made one then it's going to make the decision itself."
"What do you mean it's going to make it's own decision?" Kamika asked, wide eyed.
"It's just going to take one of us, just out of the blue," the thin air beside Thorn answered her.
"Oh," she said. Kamika let these words go through her head. "What if it takes both of you? What if it's a trap?" Kamika looked questioningly at Thorn.
"I'm not sure . . ." he said, barely more than a whisper.
Kamika had to let this sink in. It was far too much. She didn't know what she would do if Thorn was gone, but she didn't want Emerald to die either, even though she didn't know her.
"Wait, why didn't the mist take us?" she asked, motioning at Arrow and herself.
