I walked into the house after leaving Arondight in his stable.
"Hi, honey." Mom's voice came out of the kitchen, "Did you go riding again?"
I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a cup of water. "Yeah."
"It's been a while, huh? You used to ride so much when..." My mother's voice trailed off as we both realized that we were about to talk about my sister.
It was silent for a few moments before I said, "I'm guess I'm going upstairs."
"Okay, dear. I'll let you know when dinner is done."
Upstairs, in my room, I flopped onto my bed.
Lying on my back, I held up the stone feather pendant that my sister gave me and stared at it.
Suddenly, Elenessa crossed my mind. What a weird girl, she seemed ready to bolt away at a moment's notice. And those purple eyes, I guess I have to ask her if those were contacts or not if we ever met again.
I bet my sister would have been able to calm her down, and maybe even get her to talk more. That's how my sister was, friendly to everything, and everything was friendly to her.
I was starting to recall my sister's passing when mom called me, "Kale, honey, dinner is done."
I walked downstairs and joined my mother at the table, putting my sister and Elenessa out of my mind.
