"What are you doing here?" I asked, surprised to see the purple-eyed girl and her horse again.
Smirking, she gave me the same answer as last time, "Riding."
"Of course, why should I have even bothered to ask?" I rolled my eyes.
Cold, she's definitely cold.
Instead of telling her that, I decided to be friendly towards a fellow rider and I flashed a smile at her. Unfortunately, that seemed to have an ill effect, as she quickly stared down at her hands at the sight of my smile.
Wait, was that a blush that I saw on her face though?
Perhaps she's just nervous after all.
The sun was setting now and that it was getting quite dark. I had stared at my pendant for way too long.
I looked over at the nervous purple-eyed rider. Perhaps it would be worthwhile to get to know her a bit, since it seemed like we would be riding in the same woods. Following this line of logic, I offered her some company on her way back home. "May I walk you home? It's getting dark quickly."
She narrowed her eyes and glared at me with the suspicion of a frightened prey, "Why should I trust you?"
"I... I don't know." I honestly did not expect her to react that way.
Thankfully, for whatever reason, she changed her mind and decided to accept my offer after all. "I'll go with you."
Smiling at her, I took the lead with Arondight, and she followed me on her horse.
