As the sun rose over the treetops, I stand on the roof, hands on my knees and gasping for air. Sweat trickles down my brow, and although I had only begun to enter the Void, the effect it had on me was tremendous.
"Is it always going to be like this?" I wheeze, eyeing Quasar as he easily disappears, reappearing a few moments later.
"No, soon it will come as easily as breathing. Your mind is as much a muscle as any other in your body, it just takes practice."
I almost laugh, As easily as breathing, huh? I sit down, leaning my head on the incline of the roof. "Yeah well, breathing isn't coming as easily as usual right now."
Quasar eyes me, noting my exhaustion. "Perhaps we should be done for today. You've been up all night, and I've seen what happens to you when you're sleep deprived." He stands up, and disappears without another word.
I groan, What the hell did he mean by that? Oh, whatever. I shimmy down the roof, climbing into my room, making sure to be more careful than usual. Wet, slippery shingles are dangerous on their own, even without me being so tired. Luckily, I manage to make it into my room without falling. Not falling is always a good thing...
I crawl in bed, falling asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.
