The EscapeMature

Shawn and Amy waited by the front door. They had their coats on and Amy was still clinging to Shawn. "Just hurry up, we need to get the hell out of here." Eric nodded and drug Mike into the bathroom. He flicked on the light and the bathroom was filled with a dim, yellow light. "Eric...just leave me. I've lost too much blood, I'm done for." Eric shook his head. "You're going to be fine, Mike. Just be quiet and save your energy." Eric grabbed a towel off of a small metal hanger. He tied it tightly around Mike's wound. It immediately soaked through with blood. Eric groaned and quickly wrapped another towel around Mike's arm. It soaked through almost as quickly. "Fuck it, we don't have time." Eric turned to go out the door but it slammed shut in his face. "Eric? Are you okay?" Shawn hollered. Eric tried to open the door but couldn't get it open. "Shawn, you and Amy get out of here! I can't get the door open!" Eric heard footsteps run to the door. "Eric, I'm going to get you out of there!" Shawn tried to open the door but it wouldn't budge. "Eric!" "Shawn! Get out of here!" There was a long pause. "I'm sorry, Eric. I'll miss you." Tears welled up in Eric's eyes. "I'm gonna miss you too, Shawn." Eric heard Shawn's footsteps run to the kitchen, then heard the front door open and close. Eric turned and looked around the bathroom. Mike was propped up against the wall. He opened his mouth. "Dude...we're fucked..." Eric nodded. A low thud emitted from the wall. The two remaining friends looked at the wall. A crack had appeared where the thud had come from. Then there was a loud bang and the bloody blade of the axe came through the wall. Eric backed against the door and feebly banged on it. "Mike..." He moaned. "Mike...get away from him." The ghost of the man burst out of the wall, sending dry wall and plaster flying. He swung his axe upward and smashed the light. It shattered and the glass rained down and cut Mike. He winced and closed his eyes. Faint pulses of blue electricity flicked and had a strobe light-like effect, making everything seem to move in slow motion. Eric watched in horror as the ghost pulled his axe back, and swung it at Mike. It connected with Mike's chest and made a sickening cracking noise. The sound of metal on bone, the sound of Mike's ribs imploding on his delicate organs. Mike screamed. The ghost started hacking away at Mike with his axe. Blood and flesh flew. Bones cracked and shattered. It all unfolded in slow motion before Eric, in the flashing blue light. The ghost stopped mutilating Mike. Eric looked at the bloody, ruined body of Mike. Blood covered the floor like a thick, warm blanket. Eric tried to stand but slipped on the blood. He hit his head on the bathtub on the way down and let out a moan. Everything was spinning. The last thing he saw was the blade of an axe coming down on his head.
