Someone to love

For them I am the same,

Years gone and still I never change.

Still playing the family game

Same part for nearly two decades.

Oh how I wished for more,

But tears just seem to have to fall

Whilst waiting for love to call

I build another wall.

Sing me a lullaby,

Of how for me you’d die.

Make me feel alive,

Make our souls align.

If I ask for gold

Remember only brass I’ve known.

But though I want the whole

If only half I owned.

So I laugh with friends

But seem to live through them

Hear they’re stories told

And hope before I’m old

That I too will be loved

That I’ll be good enough

To finally fill my heart

To place the missing part.
