We talked for hours and hours about absolutely nothing. All that nonsense drove everyone away, but we continued, paying no attention to their jealous scoffing. We were lost in each other, and this time everything was going to go my way.
Nightly beside the green, green grass…
You are the perfect gentleman, with a cocky attitude, but a sweet perspective on all things me. You are so perfect, so mine. I’m welcoming back the old me, the one with that shy, half smile. The shine in my eyes is here to stay this time.
Kiss me, beneath the milky twilight. Lead me, out on the moonlit floor.
I don’t know what’s happening ‘till it happens, and that’s they way it should be. That’s what you taught me. I’ll never be able to go back, or so I hope. That’s why I need you. I’ll never be the same.
Lift your open hand. Strike up the band, and make the fireflies dance…
So kiss me!
I know no one can see this, but I have a smile on my face that could fill up the night sky.
