Jade and Lucie gasp in perfect unison; you look really uncomfortable. You look like you regret ever having said anything. You're rubbing your arm awkwardly and refuse to look me in the eyes. The whole room is plunged into a rather unpleasant silence. None of you know what to say first.
Is that it?
'What do you mean is that it?' You protest. 'Alena this could be serious!'
Call me reckless but I'm not that bothered. Melinda look, I'm a ghost okay? I'm dead. There's not much else that can happen to me. It would be great if I could reach the "other side" but if something extremely unfortunate were to happen to me before that, it wouldn't be the end of the world. It's not like I can feel anything.
'Oh and that makes it okay does it?' You look really angry. I don't know why. 'Do you know the lengths we're going to to ensure you're safe? I just conjured up a flipping spirit for crying out loud.'
I know, I was there.
'You're not even grateful!'
'Nat, calm down it's okay.' You shrug Lucie's arm off your shoulder and storm from the room. I'm left in your bedroom with two people who can't even communicate with me. We all sit there for a moment, looking around. Then they find it too weird and head after you. I on the other hand, have very different plans.

106 Berkley Close. A small, cosy little house on the edge of town. It's at the end of the road, in a little cul-de-sac with several other houses dotted around the edge.
It doesn't look like the sort of house I'd picture a paranormal phenomena researcher to be living in.
