“Blake, this doesn't have to get difficult, you know? Just tell me if you want anything, alright?” She came up and stood beside me.
“I don't need help.” I mumbled before I walked past her and went back downstairs.
A while later, I was sitting in front of my computer again. The pain in my stomach was getting hard to ignore and I often found myself losing focus because of it. I was so out of it that I nearly jumped when the phone rang. It remained unanswered and the repetitive tone was starting to get annoying, so I stood up and answered it, myself.
“Yeah?” I asked into the phone, hoping it wasn't someone who'd add to my stress.
“Hello, Blake. How've you been?” My father asked.
My mind froze the second I heard his voice. I hung up immediately and unplugged the phone. For a brief moment, I felt awful for doing this. I heard my step-mother talk to him over the phone upstairs. She came down stairs and stood behind my door. I heard her knock on the door moments later.
“You want to talk to your father or not?” She sounded annoyed.
“Go away.” I replied in a bitter tone.
“He says he really needs to talk to you.”
I walked up to the door and reluctantly opened it. She held the phone out to me and I took it hesitantly.
“Blake, I am returning home to take you to the doctor's office. I hope you aren't too busy to tend to your health.”
“I don't want your help. How many times do I have to tell everyone?”
“You don't have a choice.”
I grew annoyed and bit my lip out of frustration. Hanging up suddenly, I handed the phone back to her and shut the door behind me. I sat down on my bed and rubbed my head nervously. My hair caught my attention and I ran my hand through it several times. It was as dark as night, almost like how it was outside. I looked over at my computer and saw that the message program was flashing. My hand ran through my hair once more before I stood up and sat down in front of the screen. I felt a bit annoyed when I saw that it was OpalSnow. Not that there was anyone else on my contact list.
OpalSnow: Hello, my dear.
BlackSky: Excuse me?
OpalSnow: Read it again if you don't believe it. Anyway, I can ask something?
BlackSky: I'm not in the mood to converse.
OpalSnow: I'm just going to ask and you don't have to answer if you don't want to.
BlackSky: I probably won't.
OpalSnow: Okay. Well, I want to ask about something that happened today. I'm not quite sure how to put this. But, are you working on something that would have to do with re arranging values on a server?
BlackSky:You think I'm going to hack something?
OpalSnow: Are you?
BlackSky: I'm not sure what to tell you.
OpalSnow: I don't have to know the details, but I really would appreciate the truth.
BlackSky: I am feeling uncomfortable.
OpalSnow: It's okay. I'm sorry to put you in this position.
I heard someone knock on my door and I was somewhat thankful. I didn't know why he had acted this way. He wasn't usually this forceful unless he asks about us meeting up. I still wasn't fond of the idea. It would be unneeded contact.
