Friday came faster then I imagined, and Cindy was dying to meet Nathan. She was staying at my house tonight and we leave the next morning for the city.
When we got home Nathan was outside mowing the lawn for his aunt, shirtless I might add.
"Holly Hollywood is that him?" Cindy whispered. I could see in her facial expression she thought he was hot too.
"Shhhh," I said pulling her in the house. We ran upstairs giggling as we past mom in the hall, who just shook her head and smiled.
"Behave girls," she called after us.
When we were in my room we both sprawled out on the bed. "Wow he is gorgeous," she commented. I was beginning to wonder if this was a good idea, what if Nathan liked her more then me? I never told her about the kiss that he remembered from so many years ago, but she knew he was off limits. My phone buzzed, it was Jeff again.
Jeff: Hey can we talk? I miss you
I growled and threw my phone on the desk, I was not in the mood for his crap today. Cindy looked at me with the who is it look.
"Jeff has been texting me, " I admitted.
"Are you going to talk to him ever again?" she asked.
"How about NO," I laughed at my own answer.
We had rented some movies on the way home and picked up a pizza from Panda pizza. It was a tradition we had been doing for years. We told Nathan to be ready around 9:00 am, as the drive into the bigger city was two hours. Cindy wanted to go to some big outdoor mall there, neither one of had ever been to. After we stuffed our faces, watched the movies, and talked about everyone we knew we passed out. I started to have what I thought was a good dream, but turned out to be a nightmare.
I was with Nathan, and we were leaving the movies. We had plans to go eat somewhere, so we made our way to the car. He leaned in and kissed me, and his soft lips sent shivers up my spine. He was about to start the car when the sound of broken glass echoed in our ears. There was a masked man with a gun pointed to Nathan's head.
"Get out of the car now," he demanded. I recognized the voice, it was Jeff.
"Jeff , did you follow us here?" I asked in a panic.
He looked over as me and shouted, "If I can't have you no one will." I started screaming and that's when Cindy woke me up.
"Mandy, wake up," she begged. She nudged me until I realized where I was. I jumped up and gasped for air.
"Are you OK?" she asked in a frightened voice.
"Yes I'm fine, sorry bad dream," I replied before closing my eyes again and drifted back to sleep.
"Some dream," Cindy muttered before she fell back asleep too.
