White and Black- ElodieMature

The inside of the house was white and it was so bright that I had to shield my eyes. I managed to follow Stone through the bright hallway and past the few furnished rooms. The only reason I could see Stone was because of his dark coat. It was like looking at a light bulb for a long time, or going outside after being in a dark room for a while. Blinding and completely equipped for ruining my eyes. I blinked, waiting for my eyes to adjust, but they didn’t.

“Here,” Stone let me go ahead of him. I covered my eyes and pushed past him through the blinding thick, white curtains.

Now it was dark. The walls painted black and covered with weapons of all different shapes and sizes. There was a chained off section with rows of wooden boxes with cult symbols painted on them in black. They ranged in size from tiny and quite small, to medium and large. Stone walked past me towards the back of the room. I looked up from the boxes towards the 10 slots in the wall. Five of the slots were filled with Fire Knives; right up to the handles.

“Uh, Stone-

“Sshh,” He held up a hand to silence me. I did, but only because I was actually interested in what he had to say. “Hand me the knife please.”

Now he had the knife, he pushed it gently into an open slot. It lit up; much like it did when it was inside someone; destroying them, killing them.

“There we go.” He said. I was disappointed. That was it? That was all? I did not want to leave this awesome room where I could actually see without finding out some stuff.

“What are the boxes in the chained off section?” I asked. Stone smiled ecstatically. Maybe that meant that he knew so much about them and was happy that I asked, or maybe that meant that he was just a happy person. How would I know? How could I know? I had no idea.

“Those boxes are curse boxes. They each hold a cursed item. We are protected from the item by the symbols covering the boxes. I collected about just over half of them. They’re very dangerous and that’s why we keep them locked up and chained off. I should take you on a hunt one day. You can see what happens when people own these cursed items! The big one there-” He pointed to the largest one, “-took off entire families hands.”

Great, I thought. I made a note never to get in contact with one of the items in the boxes.

“So, now we have that covered, what are we going to do now?” I asked.

“Whatever you want,”

The End
