This was going to be a regular short in my 'If: Short Stories' thread but I thought it went better here. Maybe I'll do both, plagiarise myself. After all, a character in a David Eddings book once said that plagiarism was the first rule of scholarship. And this guy was allegedly four thousand years old. Who am I to argue?
