It started to rain right after I passed Knapps Pools and Spas. I looked up at the clouds angrily, wondering why Mother Nature had to be so mean.
I started walking again, but I heard a car stop somewhere not far behind me. Oh no... Not now, please not now. I turned around slowly, seeing a black 2008 Mercedes Porche. I sighed in relief. This was Carson's car.
Oh no. Carson. I just told myself I was going to leave him alone, and he has to show up now. I wondered....
I walked forward as Carson rolled down his window. "Hey," he said.
"Are you stalking me?" I asked slowly. He laughed.
"No. Are you stalking me?" he asked. I could tell he was joking around.
"Oh yes. I'm totally stalking you by being in front of you," I said sarcastically.
"Hey, ya never know," He said with a playful smile. I shook my head and rolled my eyes at him. Ugh. "Do you need a ride anywhere? Again?"
"No. I'm fine, but thanks for asking," I said about to walk away.
"Are you sure? It's raining."
"I'm sure," I said looking around me in disgust.
"Really, 'cause you don't look like it." He said. I shook my head again. "Well, then, are you hungry? Would you like to get something to eat?" He offered. "I'll pay," he added.
"Are you trying to ask me on a date?" I asked incredulous.
"No. Unless, you want it to be that, but I don't think that's what you want," He babbled. I chuckled.
As if fate wanted me to agree, my stomach growled, and I realized that I actually was hungry. I sighed and tossed my head back. The rain was cold, and I shivered. "Fine. But only because I'm tired of standing here in this freezing rain." I was probably going to regret this tomorrow. Well, no. Right now, actually.
I walked around to the passenger side, and got in. "Sorry that I'm getting your seats wet. So where are we going?" I asked.
"Eh... Don't worry about it. Where do you want to go?" he asked. "I'm still not familiar with the restaurants around here, so you get to choose," He said, flashing me a smile.
"Well, do you want a fast food restaurant, with something cheep and easy, or do you want something nice? Because Applebees is still open right now," I suggested.
"Sounds good to me. What do you recomend?" He asked.
"Um... I don't know. I've never been there," I admitted.
"Huh... Well, it's fair for both of us then," He said grinning at me. I couldn't help but grin back.
"I like your smile," He said quietly. For a moment, I wasn't sure if I'd heard him.
"What's that mean?" I asked, though I thought I knew already.
"Nothing, I just think you've got a pretty smile," He explained. Of course, this made me smile even more, and then we both started laughing as he pulled into the Applebees parking lot, and found a spot to park.
We walked inside, and Carson held the doors open for me. It was kind of weird for me, because I haven't had anybody open a door for me since I was nine. Jeesh; that was eight years ago.
