Then suddenly, it raised its head and bit her on the hand, hard. Shannon drew her hand away quickly. The cub must have used the rest of its energy just to do that because, as she drew her hand away it died in her arms.
There was nothing she could do for it now. She had to concentrate on her hand. It was bleeding furiously and stung like mad. Her head spinned as she looked at the blood.
