Standing on the busy street
He could feel her eyes as they ran up and down his thin body, but every time he looked up, hoping, praying to catch her eye, it was to no avail. He wanted to tell her everything, how he had been looking his entire life for someone just like her. He never believed in love at first sight, until that one moment that his eye caught hers.
As the bus sped by, he glanced up slightly, then quickly back down, pretending not to notice that he had just missed the last bus.
