Stumbling a few feet forward, the tall, well muscled figure fell to the floor with a loud thud. The cheering in the room stopped, along with the band's music. Silence fell for a moment, and then whispering spread to every corner of the room. Some people pointed with their fingers toward Fynn and others began to laugh.
Clumsily, Fynn scrambled up from his face-down position on the floor and stood. He faced the hundreds of eyes staring at him; even the orange haired man on the stage was watching him, a look of mild surprise on his face.
He swallowed hard and looked down at his feet. His face was quickly turning a deep shade of red as embarrassment overtook him.
"I'm sorry," Fynn mumbled, his voice cracking.
His head hanging low and his gaze fixed on the floor, he shuffled hurriedly over to Sebastian's side and sat down. The band regained their senses and began to play their songs once more.
"Great way to keep us unnoticed," Sebastian told Fynn as the red-faced boy shifted uncomfortably on the bleacher. His voice was dry with sarcasm. After realizing that he was utterly helpless in this place, Sebastian had decided it was time to reclaim his position as boss by making Fynn feel lesser than him.
"I'm sorry," Fynn choked out again, refusing to turn his gaze to look at him. Even though Sebastian was younger, the mix of fear and respect that Fynn felt toward him was obvious.
Sebastian scowled at him, a glint of cold anger in his eyes. "You better be. This could wreck our plans. Do you know the punishment for people who fail quests? Especially important ones, like this one?"
Fynn nodded, the blood draining from his face. "E-execution." He hesitated for a moment before adding "my lord" to the end of his sentence.
Sebastian's face twisted into a cruel smile. "That's right," he whispered coldly, under the noise of the band's loud music. "I'd hate to be in your position if this quest turns out badly."
