November 12 - 06:02/Evening
When I got home after Alice and Jack dropped me off, I found Daniel sitting neatly on the sofa in the living room. I took a seat beside him, and patiently waited for his lecture. Daniel turned off the TV after watching his favorite show, Fringe and faced me. I pulled both of my legs up and crossed them together to get comfortable and started pulling my green hair over my shoulder. Yes, I had green hair. Thanks to Alice one day when I was trying to dye my hair blond(I'm a natural burnette)she thought it would be funny to see what would happen if she left the dye in too long. So, my hair was dyed green and Alice got a laugh of the century.
Right, back to Daniel and I.
He took a deep breath, and began."Aerie, early tomorrow morning at six-thirty I'll be leaving to go to Brooklyn for my job."
"I know," I interrupted, just wanting to get this over with as quickly as possible so I could get back to my life.
"That means you'll be home alone for an entire week. A lot of things could happen in a week, and even though I know Alice will be coming over everyday to check on you, I want you to call me every night so I know you're okay." Daniel said.
"What? But Daniel, I'm sixteen in two days! I'll be fine, I promise!" I complained, already feeling the dread of having to call me brother every night. I mean, sure I understood how protective he was, but I can take care of myself. I'm not a kid anymore.
Daniel sighed "Okay fine, but make sure not to stay up too late, alright?" He checked.
"Yeah, I promise." I confirmed, and Daniel gave me a smile and got up from the sofa, and left the room. Huh. I didn't think he'd give up so easily like that over a tiny promise. I mean, Daniel was the type to make you swear on your mothers grave if he didn't think you were sincere, but oh well. I meant it, anyways.
After that, I pretty much just went to bed early. Really early. Well, I did my usual reading for a few hours first and actually ended up staying up until midnight, but I fell asleep after that.
Everything seemed like it was going my way so far, but I would have never of guessed I'd have a dream as crazy as I did that night.
The dream was really short, and the entire time I had no idea what was going on. I was in a red forest-but I guess that made sense since everything was red-and I was standing alone in a small circle of a clearing. There were a lot of screams, and a lot of darker red liquid that came out of no where. There were voices calling out to me in every direction, some sounded like Daniel, some like Alice. I could hear them telling me to get away or something but it was hard to tell since they were all talking at once. But, I ignored every one of the voices. But then, from behind me I heard one voice that drowned out all of the others. It was a man's voice, and he was telling me not to be afraid. I was attracted to his voice and whatever was behind me, so I turned around. I heard someone yell "Run!" but I woke up before I could see or hear anything more in the dream.
