"She doesn't listen to a single word I say, and Jack...he's 10 times worse!" I took a bite of popcorn and rolled my eyes. "And mom wants me to stay with my grandparents!" Rags bit her nail.
"Whats so bad about your grandparents?" I groaned.
"You don't wanna know the half of it!" I rolled over onto my back and starred at the ceiling. Rags did the same.
"Well you think your life has gone down the drain...". Rags trailed off and flopped on her stomach.
"What are you talking about?"
"Nothing." We were silent for a while, just laying down on our sleeping bags. I sighed and glanced over at Rags.
"I just don't get it anymore."
"Huh?" Rags was starring at her index finger. Half of the nail was gone, and her finger was dripping with blood.
"Oh my god!" I quickly looked away and shut my eyes. Just the sight of blood was enough to make me sick.
"Um, do you have a band aid?" I squoze my eyes shut even tighter.
"In the bathroom. You know where it is,". Rags left in a hurry, leaving me alone in my bedroom. I sighed again. The sleepover wasn't going as planned. Rags seemed out of it.
Suddenly, I heard footsteps coming from down the hall. I flipped over and forced a smile on my face. Rags was starring blankly at her finger.
"All you had left was spider man band aids,". We starred at each other for a minute, and then burst out laughing. I felt relieved, for the first time all day.
Rags sat down on her worn out sleeping bag and took a breath
"What time is it?" she asked. I glanced at my alarm clock. It was 7:57. Jack was probably in bed.
"It's almost eight," I said. "Wanna watch a movie?"
"How about we go to bed?"
"What?" I was shocked. Hah. It was no big deal. She was tired. But it was only eight 'o clock.
"I'm tired. And I was up all night cause....". Rags' eye's widened. We starred at each other once again.
"Oh nothing. It was no big deal." I raised my eye brows and nodded slowly. Why was she acting all weird?
"Okay, I mean if you want to go to bed, um, alright."
"I'm tired okay? Look! I had bags under my eyes!" Rags snapped, her jaw tightened her face was bright red.
"Fine!" I got up and and turned off the lights. Rags was already snuggled un in her sleeping bag. I yawned. I was actually a little worn out myself. My mother and brother were not my favorite people, at the moment.
I cuddled up in my pink sleeping bag. My eyes closed and I suddnelt drifted of f to sleep. Hopefully, the next day would be better. And hopefully, I could find out what was wrong with my best friend.
