Secret-

                “If that is how it must be, then so be it.” I turned around and faced the window so he wouldn’t see the tears threatening to fall from my eyes.

                “Secret, I don’t mean it like that, but…” he began to plead.

                I held up my hand to silence him. “Kendall, just go. You and my sister have fun together out there.”

                Kendall stayed silent for a long moment behind me. I looked at him out of the corner of my eye, his hair taking on a golden tint in the firelight.

                “I’m sorry,” he whispered before turning and walking out of the circular room. After I heard the curtain settle back against the wall as he left, I leaned against the window frame and finally let the tears start falling. I guess having a twin sister who is my exact opposite attracts whomever decides on me.

But why Kendall? Why did he have to fall for Gazelle, too? She’s only the Guardian of the Wild, just ruler over everything…wild. Nature, animals, anything that is wild, can be wild, or inspired by the wild. She’s more fun.

                And then there’s me…just the Guardian of Knowledge. So boring compared to Gazelle…
