"And when Cambio was dying, he passed part of his spirit onto me. I thought he'd be too weak to try anything, but tonight proved I was wrong," Atlantis said. She looked up at Blaze. "I am so sorry for what I almost did."
Blaze squeezed her arm. "It's okay, Atlantis. I'm fine."
"Only because you move fast! If you didn't, then I'd be cleaning up a body right now!" she cried.
"Atlantis, why didn't you tell us sooner? We could've helped you," Azkedelia said."
Atlantis shrugged. "Pride. I thought I was strong enough to resist him."
"So that's why you've been spending so much time alone," Genevieve said.
Atlantis nodded. "I didn't want to tell you. I didn't want you to worry."
"Well I think we should worry a little bit. If Cambio took over your body long enough to almost kill Blaze, how long will it be until he completely takes over?" Nix asked softly.
Atlantis wiped away a tear. "I think I need to leave for awhile. To fully understand all the new powers I'm getting from Cambio and to find a way to stop him."
Peter shook his head. "Atlantis, you're only sixteen. That's too young to go off by yourself. We'll figure something out together."
Atlantis shook her head. "By the time we figure something out, it could be too late. I'm not taking that chance."
"And I'm not letting you go. Atlantis, you're still a child. As your father, I'm putting my foot down and not letting you go!"
"Dad, I didn't want to say this, but you're my step-dad. I need to find a way to get rid of Cambio's spirit before he takes over again."
Peter blinked, shocked. "Atlantis, you are not going on your own, and that's final. We will all figure something out together." With those words, he got up and angrily walked out of the room.
Genevieve looked after him. "I'd better go and make sure he's not too mad." She stood and followed her husband.
"We'll come with you, Atlantis," Nix said.
Atlantis shook her head. "You heard dad. I can't leave."
Azkedelia watched Atlantis with her purple eyes. Azkedelia had changed a lot since she'd almost been sacrificed. "I don't think that's going to stop you. But it took all four of us to kill him the first time, it's going to take all four to kill him again."
Atlantis looked down.
"Atlantis, please let us help. We've always been close, why are you letting Cambio pull us apart?" Azkedelia whispered.
"Because I don't want to hurt any of you." She stood up. "I almost killed Blaze tonight, how long is it going to be before the 'almost' is taken out of the equation?" She faced Azkedelia. "Cambio almost killed you three months ago, what's to stop him from killing you through me?" She turned to Nix. "And when is he going to make an attempt on your life, Nix? You three aren't safe with me anymore!" She started walking to her room.
"Where are you going?" Blaze asked.
"To pack. I'm going back to school in Venice."
