Winnifred played with her best friend happily in his back yard.
"Come on Winnie, you're so slow." Sam nagged at her.
"I'm not slow, your just fast." Winnifred replied, it was true.
At age seven Sam Park could out run a thirty year old with time left to spare. Winnie, who was clumsy, liked being careful. Whenever she didn't she would fall head over heels. She could never outrun her friend.
"You know what I want to do?"
"I want to show you something." Winnifred grabbed Sam's hand and dragged him up the stairs and into their clubhouse.
Winnie, loved to invent things. And she was good at it too. This was her best invention yet.
She took Sam to the corner and covered his hands over his eyes. "Don't peek." she told him sternly.
Winnifred ran over to the table that stood in th center of the huge club house. She draped a blanket over her invention.
"Okay come here." She told Sam.
"Can I open my eyes?"
Sam flickered his eyes open and slowly walked over to the table. Winnie pulled the blanket off.
He gasped, it was awesome. Perfect in every way. He loved it.
"It's for you."
"Oh my, thank you Win. I owe you for this." Winnifred gave Sam her invention.
Beep! Sam's watched muttered, declaring it was 4:00.
"Oh, no. You have to go Win. Your mom said you could only stay till four."
"Aww." Winnie whined."Keep it safe, okay?"
"Okay, I won't want to lose it after you took so long making it."
Winnifred jumped down and Sam hopped down after her, keeping one arm securly clutched around his gift.
Winnie ran, sort of, to her house across the street.
"Thank you, again." Sam yelled in her direction. He hoped she had heard it.
Sam was psyched. He had got what he wanted. He had gotten it from Winnifred. He had gotten a b-bot.
