A Breath of Fresh Air

I only get a second

Of fresh air

Before I am shoved

Into the van.

It is a cool night;

I know it's October.

I breathe in as much as I can

Before darkness

Swallows me

And clammy, stale air

Fills my lungs.

I am left alone

Until I hear an engine starting.

And that's when I know,

There is no chance of being saved.

None at all.

The End
