I watched as she ran off. I ask as many questions as her brother? I didn't even know she had a brother! I ambled to the wall around the castle and stood in the lookout slot.
"Sire, do you need anything?" A guard had come up behind me.
"No, just information that you can't give because you don't know. I'll find it out myself." I walked briskly away before the guard could respond.
The next morning, I looked out my window in time to see Moonlight go racing out the gate with a small rider, who I knew was Destiny. Suddenly, she turned and looked straight at me.
"It's too early for you to be awake! Go back to sleep!" She yelled to me then ducked under a branch and into the forest. Too early? I looked over to the east and realized the sun hadn't come up yet. I shrugged and went back to bed.
"Wake up Peder!" My father only woke me when it was 'important'. Usually it wasn't. "I've sent my messenger to go fetch your bride so you can meet! Won't that be wonderful."
"Of course not!" I said with fake enthusiasm.
"Oh wonderful! They'll be here tomorrow so get ready!" He obviously hadn't heard me.
"I'd rather jump in the moat." My voice was flat, but my dad was obviously not paying attention, as usual. Sighing, I got out of bed and got dressed, not in my best, just in my usual. I hope Destiny will be back soon. I walked to the dining room for breakfast.
