First Date, First Kiss

"Hello Lynette." He flashed me a smile that dazzled people walking nearby and me.

"What are you doing here?" I whispered, trying to be quiet and not let the curious girls beside us hear our conversation.

"I'm keeping my promise Lynette. A date is a date. Now come on let's go."

The next thing I know, I found myself sitting in Jason Crowe's car going on the first date i've gone in my life.

"How did school go today?" He asked.

"It went fine."

"I'm sure it did," he said with a smirk. I had a feeling i was missing out on something when he said that but I didn't question him about it. I didn't talk much with Jason throughout the drive to wherever he was taking me. When he parked in front of the mall, I wasn't surprised. A typical date spot.

"C'mon, let's go."

Leaving my school stuff in the car, I got out and followed him. He took hold of my hand as he lead me through the crowds of people, finally stopping in front of a movie theatre.

"Two tickets for whatever horror movie's showing."

"We're watching horror?" I asked him, shocked at his choice.

"Apparently yes, I want you to get scared so you could get cozy with me." I stuck my tongue out at him at that last bit as he laughed. The movie was filled with blood and gore and screams and dead people and everything a horror movie usually has. But nothing provoked me to suddenly throw my hands around Jason and start crying into his shoulder. Cause honestly; horror movies aren't all that scary. When the movie ended, Jason seemed a bit disappointed by my reaction to the film.

"Wasn't it a bit scary at all?"

"Nope. I mean, dead zombies walking around and killing people is more funny then scary for me. It's not like that's going to happen in real life so." I gave him a shrug as he muttered something under his breath, including the words "unbelievable" and "tomboy".

We didn't talk much as he drove me home. It was around seven in the evening now. Dad was going to be hysterical, since he'd had no idea where the hell I'd been. And telling him I'd been with Jason Crowe might not calm him down. The car slowly came to a stop in front of the porch of my house.

"Even though you hadn't gotten quite "cozy" with me today, I still had a good time." A faint smile played on his lips as he looked at me with those eyes. I smiled back at him, trying not to get caught in his eyes this time too. 'I did too."

"I'm glad you did," he whispered, leaning towards me. I thought he was going to kiss me but instead, his hand opened my door, his face a few inches away from mine. "Sweet dreams." His breath blew away the stray strands of hair in front of my face and without thinking, I leaned in, closing the space between us.

The kiss...I don't know how long it lasted...but it was...strange. I'd never felt anything like it before. It made my heart thump so fast like it was going to pop out my chest. I felt like flying. When I finally pulled back, and got out the car, I winked at him. "I sure will, see you in dreamland."

The End
