protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Rac7hel "I've been around... reading, just not writing. I'll be more active again soon I'm sure"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for redhat "Thanks Ray. Where ya been?"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for redhat "good job ace."
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for somebodysomeday83 "The peasants bit, I thought you meant the Jack, for some ridiculous and lazy reason. And the clue: 'raised by the king' I thought you meant that the king is higher than I. It all fits together when you read it through again!!"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for somebodysomeday83 "DAH!! It's an ACE OF SPACES!!!!!! :-)"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for redhat "No! You're right about the cards and spades, but It's not the queen."
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for somebodysomeday83 "The one about the playing-cards... I'll say it's the QUEEN OF SPADES?!!"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for redhat "not a point on the compass. I'm first and last in a long line."
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for redhat "no, not a tree. I'm one of four."
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Taylos "umm WB I did that one already..but I won't post the answer for those that missed it. :)"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Taylos "Seldom got it...a candle"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Writers_Block "Haha whoops, I copied another riddle, I put it up cuz I saw it on simpsons when Moe reads and it and throws the book in the trash haha"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Writers_Block "Ugh, the stupid editing screen didn't come up at all, so it ended up all %$^@ed up looking....whatever I could care less"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Taylos "no, it is not a cicada"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Rac7hel "damn, I just had to read your answer before I got a chance to think about it."
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Taylos "Me either to be honest with you, I guess I just have puzzles on the brain from going crazy trying to figure Rac7hel's out. Especially with all the clues she gave me, I felt like an idiot for not figuring it out..ah well. Sorry for stealing your thunder.."
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Taylos "Yes Jillian you are correct, It was his father.."
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Taylos "I am pretty sure this works...STARTLING

Remove the L = starting
Remove the T = staring
Remove the a = string
Remove the r = sting
Remove the t = sing
Remove the g = sin
Remove the s = in
Remove the n = I
"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for ganga "Damn! I was close to saying "un" or "im", but stuck with "non"! "I'm put together" - makes sense now! Good one! Good work, Mararedhead!

Although I think the site should be more for stories and poetries rather than hundreds of short one-line branches on riddles, here is a thought - How about mixing riddles in a story? Like Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, Riddler in Batman etc? Guess it right and you're closer to finding the treasure (or saving someone). Guess it wrong, and you're farther away from it, or something bad happens..? Too complicated? Not sure how that will work, though..
"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Rac7hel "OHHH so close Ganga but in the end, mararedhead got it right first!

"im" as in impossible, imperfect
cherubim, elohim = plural
and "I'm"

very good!

So now... what do you guys think of the riddle?
"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for mararedhead "Just a guess but is it "im"? or I'm? Usually "im" in front of a word negates the word. In hebrew, "im" can make a word plural. And I and am put together is Im (or I'm)."
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for ganga ""Non"? It's not a word by itself. Put in the front of something, it means not of that word.

It can't be a word by itself and has to be put together.

Maybe in Hebrew, a word ending with "non" means many?
"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Rac7hel "no, it is made up of letters and letters only"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for ganga "So it's not a symbol then?"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Rac7hel "it's tricky, I admit... :)"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for ganga "All right, you seem to have confused everyone with this riddle! And now this Hebrew is making it worse!

As soon as I saw this, I was convinced that it was 0!

Probably it is a symbol? "-"? "~"?

Put in the front: could be construed a "not". (or not?!)
Put together, a hyphen can be used to glue two words together??? (but you said "I am put together" not "used to put things together") !
"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Rac7hel "nope... think about it a LITTLE more. Every line makes sense, I promise. The hebrew thing has to mean that it's "many"... and in the front, it has to be "not".

Big hint: the answer by itself is not a word
"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Taylos "I am put together with I in front...Iam is not a word
with I at the end is Ami a popular hebrew name
"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Taylos "I"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Rac7hel "you're as close as you can be. Think about it."
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Taylos "I am ?"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Rac7hel "hahaha maybe. I don't know. No one has ever gotten this right yet. You want another hint? The answer is not very many letters long. Not very many at all..."
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Taylos "Rac7hel your clues are more confusing than your riddle..lol

the second line has to do with hebrew
forget the second line..
gahhh
LOL
I am going to slap my head really hard followed very closely by a very loud "DOH !" when I finally find out the answer aren't I
"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Taylos "well even bodies in coffins eventually rot :)"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Rac7hel "okay that makes sense, I didn't think of bugs and stuff. I guess I was imagining a dead person in a coffin, which would not be full of life nor would it give back to nature. So... maybe a "dead animal" would be a more direct answer... :/

Before I read your answer I was thinking a coral reef. Not alive but full of life... past and present... still gives to the fish and whatnot. It's over the ground but under the water, and it just might be green
"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Taylos "a dead person is full of insects and other such yummy things and he gives back to nature by rotting into the soil

and yes you are correct, told you it was easy
"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Rac7hel "Think building blocks of words... ignore the second line, you can figure it out based on the first and third lines.

The third line is tricky... try to read it in as many different ways as possible.

Maybe that helps?? :/
"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for seldom "another clue please Rachel? beg beg plead plead - I've been racking my brain and it's killing me."
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Rac7hel "sorry redhat, but good guess. It's more about word formation than actual concepts like that."
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for seldom "haha don't think that didn't occur to me!
but if you're drunk - i guess your reflection is drunk? lol lol
"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Taylos "well it can't consume alcohol so it can't be drunk hehe"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for redhat "An audience?

If you're in the front (on stage) you're not in the audience.
If you put "audience" at the end of a word, "movie audience" it means many people.
and an audience is many people together.

(probably wrong. there's no Hebrew in there)
"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for seldom "WRONG ;)"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Jillian "Ah, yes that's a much better idea. Just post our guesses under whatever chapter it's for. Then we can just post riddle after riddle without having to go through a million branches of nothing to find the next one."
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Rac7hel "We should probably just post our guesses as comments... It would be easier to follow, plus we don't need to screw up the ranking system by making thirty individual branches just trying to guess a riddle."
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Jillian "Er, I think it might be best for everyone to just not rate this 'story' as it's not really a story and its sort of difficult to rate a riddle as spectacular or not (especially when you don't know the answer, as Rachel has said).

It's just for some silly riddle fun!!
"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Rac7hel "hey you're right... that word is used to describe anything with that shape, like a contact. Also the cartilage between joints. Damn, if only it couldn't be drunk, it would be an appropriate answer."
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Taylos "the watery covering on your eyes that sits between your contact and your eye is a meniscus"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Rac7hel "2, seriously? You don't know the answer... how can you know that it's not spectacular?"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Rac7hel "meniscus... you know, the very surface of the water. It certainly wouldn't sink but it could be drunk. I don't think eyes have anything like it though..."
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for seldom "figured out an override"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Rac7hel "so much for the 140 character minimum..."
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for seldom "$%^!"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Rac7hel "Well that's because it's a riddle and you haven't figured out the answer yet! Once you know the answer, it will make sense. ;)"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for allie "i don't get the riddle at all rachel"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Rac7hel "It doesn't... I guess that comment about it being easy was directed at the teacher riddle"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for redhat "How does magnet make sense? I don't get it."
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for allie "it was easy and next time make it a bit harder"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for redhat "cool idea"
protagonize: author profile thumbnail for Writers_Block "Um the only thing that made me think it was teacher was the last clue...and the fact that ea was in almost everything...I didn't get it :P"
